In November 2021, U.S. publisher Middleway Press released The Light of Learning: Selected Writings on Education, a new collection of works on education by Daisaku Ikeda. The collection reflects what Institute director Jason Goulah in the foreword calls Mr. Ikeda’s “uniquely Eastern and quintessentially universal” perspectives and practices in education. Ranging from educational proposals and university lectures to personal essays and poetry, the writings included in The Light of Learning provide a comprehensive introduction to Mr. Ikeda’s broad educational philosophy. Goulah’s foreword concludes, “The writings in this volume are compelling and encouraging, a necessary guide in the uncertainty of our turbulent times and the urgency of the moment.”
